A Note from Drew

Dear Redeemer Members and Regular Attenders,

I wanted to write a quick note to invite you to join us this Wednesday night at 6:30 for our Thanksgiving service. The service will last no more than an hour. We will sing and take time to pray corporately and together as families to prepare our hearts to celebrate Thanksgiving Day well. I consistently hear people say this service is their favorite thing we do as a church all year. There will child care thru pre-school. But the service will be kid friendly. We want families to attend together. I hope you’ll come.

Also, this coming Sunday (after Thanksgiving) is the first Sunday of Advent. The services during the Advent season are really special. We light the Advent candle, sing Christmas music, and celebrate communion each week. The sanctuary will be decorated for the season. We also provide a family worship guide to go along with the Advent theme each week. Lots of preparation has gone into these services. The worship team has been practicing for the last month for the new songs we will sing together. Let me encourage you to make it a priority to come each week during Advent. Our attendance on Sundays have waned a bit in the past few months. We are praying that that trend will reverse from now to Christmas. We want to fill the room up twice for these four weeks.

C.S. Lewis said, if Christmas really happened, then it is the most important thing. If it didn’t happen, it’s not important at all. But the only thing it can’t be is moderately important. Lukewarmness when it comes to the truth of the Incarnation is irrational. It calls forth our very best efforts. Our loudest voice. Because it’s true!

I am praying for a wonderful holiday season for all of you. Hope to see you this Wednesday and the Sundays during December.
