Advent Family Worship- Day 3

Begin by singing “O Come Thou Long Expected Jesus”

Light the first Advent candle and ask, “What was our theme from last week?” The answer is JOY.

Light the second Advent candle and ask, “What is our theme this week?” The answer is FAITH.

Read Ephesians 6:10-18 together.

• Q. What do these verses tells us our lives will be like? What’s your reaction? (Does it scare you? Does it excite you?)
• Q. Talk about the armor of God. What do you think all of the pieces of the armor are? (What is the shield of faith? – i.e. what is faith? Why is it like a shield?)
• Q. What is the hope of the gospel? Recall Revelation 19 & 20. Is the outcome of our struggle against evil uncertain or certain? If Jesus wins, how does that change our approach to life?

Pray using the A.C.T.S. model.

• Adore God for his love and his power.
• Confess your need of courage and strength against Satan’s schemes.
• Give thanks for Jesus. He has won!
• Ask the Holy Spirit for the strength to fight the fight of faith. 

Finish by singing “O Come All Ye Faithful”
