Passage: Romans 3:21-26

Worship Folder

I. THE WRATH OF GOD
Why do we get uncomfortable when we think about the wrath of God? What is the difference between God’s wrath and our wrath? What is propitiation?

II. THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD
How can God remain righteous and make sinners righteous? Where does righteousness come from? How do we become righteous?

Discussion Questions:

1. Why do non-Christians get uncomfortable when we think/talk about the wrath of God? Why do Christians still get uncomfortable with the wrath of God?

2. What is propitiation? Why is this big fancy word so significant for sinners?

3. How can God remain righteous and make sinners righteous?

4. What is the difference between pardon and being made righteous? Why do we typically focus on the pardon part and not the being made righteous part?

5. How would your life be different if you lived in and through the truth that you have been made righteous, and you will always have the perfect record and worth of Christ?
