Fool's Gold

Passage: Luke 12:13–22, Luke 12:24–26, Luke 12:28–34, 1 Timothy 6:17–19

Discussion Questions:

  1. Read 2 Corinthians 8:9 and Romans 8:31-32. What do those Scriptures tell us God is like? Where have you experienced the generosity of others in your life? How did it change you?
  2. Is what the man in Jesus’ parable (in Luke 12) did wrong? What (specifically) was his sin? Why was his strategy of building bigger barns foolish?
  3. Are you anxious about money? Does your anxiety keep you from being generous with your money and material possessions?
  4. What does it mean to be “rich towards God” (Luke 12:21)? Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to fill you with faith and courage to be radically generous!
