Dear Redeemer Family,

We are pleased to announce that we will begin to have in-person services beginning Sunday, June 7th. The Session has been meeting and praying since March for wisdom to discuss the appropriate timing for our church to reopen. This is something none of us have ever dealt with before, and as you can imagine, it is a weighty decision.

We realize that our congregation - including the elders - has varying opinions on the best approach to deal with COVID and what guidelines and protocols to implement.  What we’re sharing today is where the Session landed unanimously, believing it to be what is best for our church.

The objective during this process has been to balance:
1)  The eager desire to meet together (Psalm 122)
2)  Compliance with government guidelines (Romans 13)
3)  Most importantly, loving and caring for our people well (1 Corinthians 16:14)

  • What the church is doing
    • General
      • Two worship services at 9:00am and 10:30am
      • We will comply with crowd size guidelines
      • The service time will be shortened to less than an hour to allow for cleaning
      • We’ll continue to live stream the 9:00am service, which will then be archived on both Facebook and YouTube
    • Children
      • Parents will need to decide whether to bring children, based on guidelines
      • No childcare or children’s worship will be available at this time
      • A cry room will be available
      • Worship engagement bags for kids will be available – details to come
      • One idea we’ve heard is for each parent to attend a different service and hand the kids off between
    • Safety Measures
      • We will thoroughly sanitize the surfaces before and between services
      • Hand sanitizer will be available in multiple locations
      • As much as possible, we will make everything non-touch
      • Where possible, we’ll provide one-way foot traffic
      • Spacing of chairs will adhere to social distancing guidelines
      • No greeting time will be offered
      • Offering baskets will not be passed but offering boxes will be in place

  • What we’re asking you to do
    • Please respect social distancing guidelines - before, during and after the service
    • Per CDC guidelines, we’d recommend you consider wearing a mask. We will have them available. Parents – we understand the difficulty in having younger children do this, so we are leaving this to your discretion.
    • Out of respect for others, please no handshaking or hugging
    • Please sit with only family/household members
    • After the benediction, please exit the building quickly so we can clean for the next service. Catch up with friends in the parking lot, still practicing social distancing
    • Please be patient as we all work through this unusual time together

We’re very excited about being able to get back together.  However, if you are uncomfortable with these guidelines for any reason and choose to stay home and watch the live stream, that is the correct decision for you.  There is no right or wrong answer – each of us needs to make this a personal decision that is best for our own family. Either way, you have our blessing.

We will continually reevaluate the guidelines and protocols and we learn more and keep you updated. If you have any questions, we’d encourage you to reach out to one of our Elders, listed below.

Warmly,
