Discussion Questions:
- Have you ever been the good guy mistaken for the bad guy? What does that feel like?
- Jesus couldn’t save us and save himself. When have you been faced with a similar choice (on a much smaller scale, of course!)? Jesus really had the power and authority to save Himself. Discuss how this makes his sacrifice even more wonderful.
- The Cross wasn’t an accident. “It was the will of the Lord to crush Him” (Isaiah 53:10). The Cross was the plan from the beginning. What does that reveal about God’s heart for his people?
- Jesus’ last words in life were “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!” What is the meaning of that statement? How are his last words a summary of the way He lived his whole life?
- What cross has Jesus called you to? Where do you get the courage to take it up and follow him?
